Ukraine is catching up in popularity as a go to destination in Eastern Europe.  Though it is situated in the Central part of Europe in the mid-latitudes at a great distance from the ocean,  there are 4 Seasons in Ukraine to be enjoyed. (as with most other countries)

Spring in Ukraine

From end of March, till May is a great time to enjoy the Spring in Ukraine. The Snow starts to melt feeding the melt water into the many large rivers in the basin and the Transcarpathian Mpountains. 

The weather in the months of April and May is still cold but bearable, and frost can be be seen in some parts as late as Mayday. There are less crowds still as Tourist’s haven’t started flocking in  making this an Ideal time to travel to Ukraine. 

Around the end of March is the also the time when one sees new plants sprouting again and by early may the Green foliage can be seen around the Country. This is also the time when the reverse bird migration happens. Birds who had Migrated to southern parts of Ukraine to  escape the Harsh winters start migrating back to the North.

Summer in Ukraine

The summer months  start from June and continue till September. Summer is generally the best time to visit (between June and September), although it can occasionally be uncomfortably hot and many hotels do not have air conditioning.

For the large part though the days are sunny and pleasant, and nights are cool and comfortable. All the tourist destinations, are flocked by travel enthusiasts looking for the best in the country.

Ukraine in the summer months is also a perfect destination to explore new hiking trails – the warm temperatures mean that staying in a tent or in the open air is comfortable. add to that there are many interesting routes to walk here, and beautiful mountain peaks to conquer

Ukraine offers visitors captivating scenery in the Carpathian Alps, not to mention the fairytale Synevir Lake, home to captivating legends and myths.

Autumn in Ukraine

Come October and the Autumn season kicks in. Autumn is also the beginning of shorter days, rainfall and chilly weather in Ukraine. The rainiest months are October and November.

This also marks the start of migration of the birds towards the southern regions. This is the period of heavy discounts, less crowd and peaceful beaches on the coasts of the Black Sea.

Winter in Ukraine

Winter in Ukraine is very harsh and cold, with temperature dropping down to  30 degrees below ZERO. 

The country is usually covered in a blanket of snow making it a great destination for skiing or snow- boarding on the Carpathian Mountains, or just trek around and breathe in the splendid views around.

For the ones looking for Cultural delight then you will see a lot of colorful Christmas festivities around December time. 

January tends to be the coldest month and February is one of wettest months in Ukraine, add to this that it is extremely cold, not the best time to be visiting Ukraine.
